Position Overview:
This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient transitions from entry to their designated locations, executed with efficiency, precision, and professionalism.

The specialist will gather vital information to create a comprehensive financial and demographic profile for patients, which is crucial for optimizing reimbursement and enhancing clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interviewing patients to collect pertinent medical details, clarifying departmental and hospital charges and policies, accurately entering charges into relevant systems, and collecting necessary payments. Additionally, the specialist will manage incoming calls and guide patients and visitors appropriately.



Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of pertinent experience in a healthcare environment is desirable.
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding is required; familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is advantageous.
  • Capability to interpret insurance details; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is necessary.
