Job Summary
Responsible for daily tasks that ensure a hygienic environment within a healthcare facility.

Work autonomously or collaboratively in a team setting, utilizing appropriate equipment, methods, and techniques for safe and effective laundry handling, including sorting, washing, chemical application, and temperature control.

Depending on the facility, execute assigned responsibilities according to established processes and protocols. Adhere to infection control standards when managing contaminated laundry in accordance with organizational and healthcare laundry regulations.

Engage in the collection and sorting of laundry, as well as the proper handling, storage, and distribution of clean textiles following the facility's procedures.

Responsibilities may include collecting soiled linens (such as gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, and personal garments) from various areas and distributing sanitized linens.

Depending on the facility's guidelines, tasks may involve washing, drying, folding linens, sorting and folding clothing, and accurately labeling items for the designated healthcare organization.

Ensure proper storage and security of laundry supplies and equipment within the healthcare setting.

Utilize all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined in the facility's protocols.

Physical demands include extensive use of arms and legs, as well as overall body movement; activities may involve climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.

Must be capable of lifting and/or moving 30-50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 500 lbs on flat surfaces or ramps.

This role requires being on one's feet for the majority of the shift and may involve exposure to noise from operational equipment.

Work hours may vary based on patient needs and could include overtime, on-call duties, and shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Proficiency in computer usage, prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare environment, and familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, and methods are advantageous.


Depending on the facility, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.
