Job Summary:The Physiotherapy Assistant is responsible for performing various physical therapeutic treatments for patients with injuries or disabilities that have been evaluated and have had a plan of care developed by a Physiotherapist. This role requires the ability to work under the direct supervision of the Physiotherapist and to interact with patients and their families to teach them exercises and techniques to be performed at home.
To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions:
- Interact with patients and their families to teach them exercises and techniques to be performed at home.
- Administer treatment programs to assigned patients including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy, gait training, wound dressing, etc., in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physiotherapist.
- Record patient's reaction to treatment and progress in the patient care plan on the patient's medical record.
- Instruct and provide technical direction to Physiotherapy Assistant students, technicians and attendants in performing patient care activities.
- Counsel and teach patient and/or family in the use of assistive devices and exercise techniques to be performed at home in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physiotherapist.
Requirements:
This role requires:
- Two (2) Years of experience working as a PTA preferred.
- Associates Degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program required.
- Currently licensed in the state of employment as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Current State of Tennessee Driver's license.
- Current Auto liability Insurance according to Company Policy.
Additional Requirements:
This role may require:
- Unscheduled overtime, weekend work.
- Flexible hours.
- Travel required.
- Reliable transportation.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
