Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging art lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and educational objectives.
- Utilize established instructional guidelines and resources to develop comprehensive lesson plans.
- Create a nurturing and interactive classroom atmosphere that fosters student engagement and learning.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and their families.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school administration.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials that encourage active participation in learning.
- Fulfill school-wide responsibilities as assigned, including supervision during lunch and recess.
- Guide and supervise students in the use of educational materials and equipment.
- Manage classroom behavior by establishing and upholding rules and procedures.
- Engage in departmental, school, district, and parent meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 1-2 years of teaching experience, ideally in urban educational settings.
- Valid Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.
- All staff must provide necessary background clearances prior to employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
- Encourage parental and community involvement, responding promptly to inquiries.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities.
- Engage in extracurricular activities as directed.
- Ability to support students with varied individual needs.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred.
