Plumbing Instructor

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Instructor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for providing effective Career and Technical Education instruction in the plumbing trade.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to ensure students meet the required competencies for the plumbing trade.
• Assist students in completing the required competencies for the plumbing trade.
• Maintain accurate and current student records for assigned students.
• Ensure the lab is operated in compliance with all aspects of safety management.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of all phases of plumbing trade area to include materials, tools, and machines.
• Considerable knowledge of the trade area through training and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain inventory, logbooks, and other documentation as policy directs.
• Ability to work with adult offenders in a classroom/lab environment.
• Eligibility for or possession of industry certification and/or a recognized professional trade license in the plumbing trade.
• Eligibility for or possession of a Virginia Trade and Industrial Teaching Certificate.
• Eligibility for or possession of an endorsement in the trade area (plumbing).

• Teaching experience in an educational environment, alternative school setting, correctional education setting, or state facility.
• Experience working in a correctional facility specializing in adult education.
