REPORTING TO: Principal / Assistant Principal

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline with a valid teaching certificate
  • Meets Professional Qualifications and is qualified to instruct the assigned subject and/or class as outlined by the relevant educational standards
  • Demonstrates the ability to connect effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivers instruction to students utilizing established performance standards and effective, research-based teaching methodologies
  • Assists students in developing foundational knowledge to support their understanding of the performance standards
  • Facilitates student engagement with instructional technology
  • Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality while fulfilling all assigned responsibilities effectively
  • Exhibits a professional appearance appropriate for the educational environment
  • Maintains a professional demeanor in interactions with school administration, staff, parents, students, and the community
  • Instructs one or more subjects in alignment with the educational goals set by the school system; develops and implements suitable long-term and short-term objectives for each course
  • Actively participates in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and improve student outcomes
  • Continuously evaluates student performance in relation to educational objectives and desired outcomes
  • Effectively manages student behavior to create a conducive learning environment and assists in maintaining order throughout the school
  • Collaborates with colleagues in various capacities to analyze assessment data and adjust instructional strategies to boost student achievement
  • Keeps accurate and current records of student grades and attendance
  • Maintains open communication with parents regarding student progress and behavior
  • Supervises the performance of teacher assistants, if applicable
  • Engages in professional meetings, training sessions, and collaborative efforts with school leadership
  • Contributes positively to a harmonious workplace atmosphere
  • Meets the performance and conduct expectations set by school leadership
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
