Job Summary

A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a non-exempt Licensed Practical Nurse to assist physicians in patient care and educational components in the Family Medicine Residency program.

Main Responsibilities

Assist physicians in patient care, including patient history, vital signs, lab tests, and medication administration.
Fulfill insurance pre-certification requirements.
Provide patient education and inform patients of test results and appointment plans.
Review charts and triage calls.
Assist with examinations, minor surgeries, and procedures.
Document nurse care assessments and medication lists.
Perform various medical procedures, including spirometry, EKGs, and injections.
Maintain pharmacy area and laboratory supplies.
Clean and organize treatment rooms and medical chart room.
Obtain supplies from external vendors when necessary.
Wheelchair transport patients to radiology procedures or ER if needed.
Pickup and return x-rays.

Requirements

LPN license.
CRP certification and knowledge of related license and certification.
3-6 months of experience preferred.
Experience in outpatient clinic settings with a large physician group ideal.
Experience with obstetrics, pediatrics, family medicine, and surgical assist.
Strong communication and education skills.
Ability to work as a team member and handle stress well.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance standards.
