Veterinary Assistant

As a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our furry patients and their owners. Your primary responsibility will be to support the veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care, while also ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and exams
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas, exam rooms, and laboratories
- Administer medications and perform routine tasks as directed by veterinarians and veterinary technicians
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide excellent customer service
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and best practices
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
