Senior Transportation Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transportation Officer to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. This role is responsible for securely transporting detainees between destinations and ensuring that the vehicles used for transportation activities are safe and properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Assist management in resolving unique or unexpected problems that arise during transportation activities.
- Review vehicle inspection reports and develop summaries for transportation management.
- Ensure that all permits and licenses for assigned vehicles are in order.
- Verify that vehicles have the necessary safety equipment before initiating a trip and notify transportation management if there are any issues.
- Properly track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
- Participate in the interviewing and screening of applicant transport officers.
- Review all necessary paperwork and ensure that all reports are submitted to transportation management according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all transportation missions meet or exceed PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid Class B or Class C Chauffeur's Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement within 90 days of appointment.
- 80 hours of verified and certified driver's training from an approved company trainer and as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
- Must possess a State Firearms License.
- Must possess a State Security Guard License.
- Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certification of satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.

- A current driver's license with no preventable accidents, suspensions for driving convictions, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or more than two (2) moving violations on any type of vehicle for the past three (3) years.
- Passing a company and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol test.
- Ability to work overtime frequently.
- Ability to travel extended periods of time with frequent overnight stays.
- Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
- Must be able to regularly report to work without being late.
- Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned.
- Ability to work up to 16 hours within a rolling 24-hour period.
- Must be mature, flexible, and able to command the respect and confidence of inmates or detainees and staff, philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility, and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs. (sometimes more).
- Reach above shoulder level.
- Work with machinery.
- Bend, stoop, climb, walk, stand, sit, and work in extreme temperatures.
