Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Castleview Hospital. As a key member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management of respiratory and cardiopulmonary systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
  • Manage ventilators, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results to guide patient care
  • Assist with intubation and extubation procedures, as well as manage patients requiring tracheostomy care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital sign monitoring and respiratory function testing
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients and families on respiratory health and disease management
Requirements
  • Active CRT or RRT license
  • 2+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a critical care setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with ability to analyze complex patient data and make informed decisions
