Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Construction Development Manager to oversee the full life-cycle of data center and commercial construction and development projects. This critical role will drive project success by managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring excellence in execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets to ensure financial efficiency throughout all phases of development and construction.
  • Project Scheduling: Create comprehensive project timelines, addressing critical path challenges to guarantee timely delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison with tenants, contractors, architects, consultants, and public agencies to align on project objectives and resolve issues.
  • Procurement and Contracts: Prepare RFPs, evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee consultant and contractor activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Data Center Expertise: Ensure the unique requirements of data center development are integrated into all phases of design and construction.
  • Tenant Coordination: Manage tenant improvement (TI) projects, balancing client-specific needs with organizational goals.
  • Compliance Oversight: Maintain strict adherence to applicable laws, permitting requirements, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Sustainability and Efficiency: Implement energy-efficient and sustainable practices in alignment with certifications such as LEED or Energy Star, particularly in data center environments.
  • Due Diligence: Support site evaluations, zoning efforts, and acquisition assessments for new data center and redevelopment opportunities.
  • Reporting and Systems: Utilize project management software to track progress, manage costs, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing data center construction projects, including mission-critical systems, infrastructure, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead complex commercial and technical developments from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and contract management, with a focus on data center-specific requirements.
  • Advanced understanding of zoning, permitting, and compliance in both urban and suburban contexts.
  • Proficiency with project management tools; familiarity with design software is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, including tenants, equity partners, consultants, and public officials.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high-stakes projects in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of green building practices and their application to energy-intensive facilities like data centers.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges specific to mission-critical infrastructure and operations.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $220,000 annually, depending on experience.
