Job Overview

Kilker Boatworks is seeking a skilled Fiberglass Technician to join our team. As a Fiberglass Technician, you will be responsible for identifying cracks and cosmetic flaws, preparing fiberglass, resins, and damaged areas for repair, shaping and smoothing edges to match contours perfectly, mixing gel coat catalyst and spraying or brushing repaired surfaces, and buffing and polishing repaired areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and repair cracks and cosmetic flaws in fiberglass components.
  • Prepare fiberglass, resins, and damaged areas for repair by cleaning and sanding surfaces.
  • Mix and apply gel coat to repaired surfaces.
  • Buff and polish repaired areas to achieve a high-gloss finish.
Requirements:
  • Ability to operate small to large equipment.
  • Knowledge of marine products, resins, and associated hardware preferred.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Teamwork, integrity, and passion as we continuously move forward, innovate, and improve in the trade.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work 40-hour work weeks.

Salary Estimate:
