The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric cardiac intensivist at the level of Associate Professor, tenure-stream. The successful candidate will be committed to patient care, resident and fellow education, and clinical or laboratory research. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and/or be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics in Critical Care Medicine or Pediatric Cardiology with additional fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and/or dual-boarded in CCM and Cardiology. The time effort allocation of this position will be 40% research, 30% clinical, 20% teaching, and 10% service. The Pediatric Cardiac ICU at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is one of few ICUs in the country designed to meet the needs of pediatric patients with both congenital and acquired heart disease. The cardiac program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is ranked third in US News and World Report Best Children's Hospitals. The 12-bed CICU provides care for adult patients who require ongoing medical care due to a history of congenital heart disease. Each year, the CICU admits more than 700 children. The CICU specializes in patients with complex congenital heart surgery, heart transplantation, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and Ventricular assist devices (VAD).
