About the Role
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Responsibilities
* Provide quality customer service to clients and team members with an attitude of helpfulness, dignity, and respect
* Conduct nutrition and diet histories of low-risk participants according to established procedures
* Weigh and measure participants according to established protocols
* Provide education and support for breastfeeding and promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment
* Identify patient needs and provide necessary referrals
* Schedule appointments and issue WIC food benefits
* Screen clients for WIC eligibility, counsel, and refer participants as needed
* Document pertinent information in the WIC Program's Integrated Statewide Information System
Requirements
* High School Diploma or completion of GED
* Certified as a Lactation Educator (desirable)
* Previous nutrient counseling experience (desirable)
* Basic computer skills
* Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance
* Precise and conscientious about details
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to handle multiple tasks well
* Ability to work well independently and with others
* Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) required
* Experience or desire to work with low-income families
