About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team at Multnomah County. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing quality health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical assistance and support to Dentists and Dental Hygienists
  • Perform all aspects of 4-handed dentistry using effective and efficient techniques
  • Anticipate provider needs during treatment and keep them informed of schedule changes and unfilled appointments
  • Triages emergency patients and makes providers aware of client needs
  • Performs Dental Assisting and expanded functions including rubber cup prophylaxis, applying sealants, polishing amalgams, placing/removing matrix retainers, and removing excess cement and placing temporary restorations
Requirements
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
  • Possession of an appropriate and valid certificate of Expanded Function Dental Assistant, including a certification of radiologic proficiency issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners
  • BLS CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Successful completion of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association is a prerequisite for performing the application of pit and fissure sealants
Preferred Qualification

One (1) year of responsible dental assistant experience or a graduate from an accredited dental assistant program
