{"Job Title": "Registered Nurse", "Job Summary": "We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Midwest Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to our residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. You will be responsible for ensuring that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with our Community's written policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

* Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern our Community.
* Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this Community.
* Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
* Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
* Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.
* Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
* Participate in Community surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies as requested.
* Periodically review the resident's written discharge plan. Participate in the updating of the resident's written discharge plan as required.
* Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
* Administer professional services such as; catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as required.
* Perform lab tests, blood pressures, and other routine monitored as required per the resident care plan.
* Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
* Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
* Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc., in accordance with established policies.
* Receive telephone orders from physicians and transcribe on the Physicians' Order Form.
* Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care.
* Complete accident/incident reports per Community policy. Submit to RCC or Unit Manager.
* Develop and maintain a good working rapport with co-workers and other departments within the Community.
* Review complaints and grievances. Report these to the RCC and/or Unit Manager.

Requirements:

* Must have a valid professional license (RN) that is in good standing with the State.
* Must have basic computer skills.
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
* Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
* Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
* Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
* Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds.
