Job Summary

The Plant Operations Specialist will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of biogas upgrading plants, ensuring safe and efficient production processes. This role will report to the Plant Manager and will be required to work a 12-hour shift, either day or night.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Plant Equipment: Ensure all production processes are running smoothly, and equipment is properly maintained to prevent downtime.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Offer support to the Plant Manager and other team members on technical matters, including interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
  • Implement Quality Control Measures: Develop and implement procedures to ensure high-quality production, and maintain tight quality control issues.
  • Assist in Project Development: Collaborate with the AMP Americas team to develop and implement project procedures, management tools, and standards.
  • Commission and Test Plant Equipment: Ensure all plant equipment is properly commissioned and tested to meet Operation Acceptance Tests (OATs) standards.
  • Ensure Plant Safety: Learn, understand, and comply with plant safety rules and regulations at all times, and hold self and others accountable for safe operations.
  • Monitor and Optimize Production Processes: Use computerized systems and visual inspection to monitor efficiency and make adjustments as needed to optimize plant throughput.
  • Perform Plant Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the plant, including walking through the entire facility, to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Log and Document Activities: Maintain accurate records of activities, shutdowns, abnormal operations, troubleshooting, and problem areas.
  • Recommend Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, and recommend measures to implement these improvements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree, vocational technical diploma, or equivalent technical experience (required). Minimum 5 years of experience handling process equipment and manufacturing operations (preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, and experience working in a process production environment or natural gas industry (highly desirable).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as a team member, strong multi-tasking skills, and basic computer skills for navigating spreadsheets and entering production data.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb fixed and movable ladders up to 35 feet high, and perform basic maintenance duties proficiently.
  • Environmental Conditions: Willingness to work in confined spaces and overhead work, and ability to repetitively lift, bend, kneel, walk, and climb daily.
