Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Universal Waste Systems. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with our refuse vehicles, ensuring they are in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and other components.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts and materials.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and stay up-to-date with technical bulletins.
  • Supervise work of apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and report any defects or malfunctions to management.
  • Operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
