Job Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms at Medical Center Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia care team, you will be responsible for preparing patients for anesthesia, maintaining anesthesia supplies, and monitoring equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and prepare them for anesthesia
- Maintain and prepare anesthesia supplies and equipment
- Monitor and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment
- Collaborate with anesthesia care providers to ensure patient safety
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
- Texas CNA or EMT certification preferred
- ACLS certification encouraged
- Certified Anesthesia Tech certification encouraged
Competencies:
- Connecting patients to monitors
- Preparing IV set-up
- Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
- Anesthesia machine set-up
- Non-invasive line monitoring room set-up
- Invasive line monitoring room set-up
- Continuous cardiac output monitoring set-up
- Assisting in placement of invasive lines
