Job Summary:

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms at Medical Center Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia care team, you will be responsible for preparing patients for anesthesia, maintaining anesthesia supplies, and monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and prepare them for anesthesia
  • Maintain and prepare anesthesia supplies and equipment
  • Monitor and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment
  • Collaborate with anesthesia care providers to ensure patient safety
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
  • Texas CNA or EMT certification preferred
  • ACLS certification encouraged
  • Certified Anesthesia Tech certification encouraged

Competencies:

  • Connecting patients to monitors
  • Preparing IV set-up
  • Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
  • Anesthesia machine set-up
  • Non-invasive line monitoring room set-up
  • Invasive line monitoring room set-up
  • Continuous cardiac output monitoring set-up
  • Assisting in placement of invasive lines
