About the Job:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of medical professionals, utilizing advanced imaging techniques to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist at Magnet Medical, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of each procedure and delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparing the interventional radiology (IR) suite by ensuring all necessary imaging equipment, sterile instruments, and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Reviewing patient information, medical history, and previous imaging studies to ensure the correct procedure and appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Verifying patient identity, allergies, and consent forms before the procedure begins.
  • Explain the procedure to the patient, address any concerns, and provide reassurance to reduce anxiety.
  • Assisting the interventional radiologist in performing a wide range of minimally invasive procedures, including angiograms, biopsies, catheter placements, stent insertions, and drain placements.
  • Operating imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, CT scan, or ultrasound) to guide the physician during procedures, ensuring accurate imaging to target specific areas of the body.
  • Maintaining a sterile environment by assisting with sterile draping, setting up sterile instruments, and handling devices as required during the procedure.
  • Administering contrast agents or dyes, as directed by the physician, to enhance visibility of blood vessels or organs on imaging.
  • Monitoring the patient's vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, during the procedure and reporting any changes to the medical team.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in radiologic technology and interventional radiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure in emergency situations.
  • A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Availability to work 10 hour shifts, days, for 40 hours per week.
