About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide essential support to our nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with clerical and non-clinical tasks, including ordering and obtaining supplies, re-stocking, and monitoring for outdates.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by caring for and cleaning equipment, maintaining cleanliness of patient/clinic rooms, work areas, and keeping hallways clear of clutter.
  • Perform low-level disinfection and adhere to infection prevention principles.
  • Perform quality checks of point of care testing machines.
  • Check emergency stations daily and record medication refrigerator temperatures as needed.
  • Escort patients throughout the building as needed and assist with wheelchairs.
  • Answer telephone calls and assist in the overall functioning of the department.
  • Prepare patient forms with demographic information.
  • Deliver specimens to the laboratory and run errands to other departments.
  • Participate in continuous regulatory readiness activities and employ safety standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with excellent organizational, customer service, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
