Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner West Region Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide specialized, trauma-informed medical forensic services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical forensic exams and evidence collection in a prompt, non-judgmental, and compassionate manner.
- Offer counseling for emergency contraception, prophylactic treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate care of sexual assault survivors.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative guidelines.
- Testify in court as a fact witness and/or expert and assist other SANEs in preparing for court proceedings.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with standards in Forensic and SANE nursing practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
- Current Illinois Licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
- BLS certification upon hire.
- Completion of the IL SANE Clinical Training Program within 1 year of hire.
- Completion of an International Association of Forensic Nursing (IAFN) approved 40-hour didactic class.
- Completion of the IL SANE Clinical Training Log.
- Adult/Adolescent SANE or Pediatric/Adolescent SANE certification.
- Certified SANE-A or Certified SANE-P.
- ACLS Certification.
- TNCC or TNS.
- PALS.
