Key Responsibilities:

The Engineer will be tasked with performing evaluations related to controls and maintaining proficiency in hardware, software, and functional safety assessments. Specific duties include:
  • Conducting both on-site and off-site evaluations of products to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Interpreting national codes and standards to assess the equipment under test (EUT).
  • Reviewing schematics and manufacturing guidelines to validate project scope.
  • Identifying necessary testing instruments and equipment.
  • Executing established test plans and documenting outcomes.
  • Performing a variety of tests, including but not limited to rating, leakage current, dielectric strength, and mechanical hazard assessments.
  • Carrying out assessments against the IEC 62443 standards.
  • Conducting thorough compliance audits on IT products and systems, pinpointing potential risks.
  • Reviewing third-party security practices to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Generating detailed reports of assessment findings, including risk analysis and recommendations.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends in IT security and regulatory requirements.
  • Completing preliminary design reviews and developing test plans.
  • Setting up and operating standard testing equipment.
  • Engaging with clients to provide project quotations and information.
  • Maintaining flexibility in work schedules and travel as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • Ability to analyze problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and time management.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs dictate.

Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with international product safety standards such as UL, CSA, and IEC.
