Emergency Veterinary Triage Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Triage Technician to join our dynamic team at Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct rapid patient assessments within 15 minutes of arrival, prioritizing based on stability and utilizing the patient severity index.
- Utilize Smartflow's ER board and workflow template for seamless patient transfer and organization.
- Provide brief reevaluations and updates to patient families, ensuring transparent communication.
- Handle phone communications regarding patient care, addressing concerns, and providing information.
- Assist in stabilizing patients with tasks like IV catheter placement, drug/fluid therapy, and CPR.
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately in medical records.
- Ensure proper discharge procedures with client education on home care, medications, and monitoring.
- Maintain transparent communication with the patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills such as placing catheters, venipuncture, and safe patient restraint.
- Dedication to providing outstanding client service and superior patient care.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in technical skills such as catheter placement, venipuncture, and patient restraint.
