Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Certified Welder to join our team at ManTech International Corporation. As a Certified Welder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform welding operations on ballistic hulls and metals, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
- Read blueprints and associated installation instructions to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
- Design and develop new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
- Review contractor's standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
- Design or review simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, and/or instrumentation systems.
- Gather and correlate basic data and perform routine engineering research and development assignments.
- Guide and assist technicians in fabrication and installation of simple mechanical and related equipment and routine systems.
- Prepare instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and systems.
- Provide design details and recommend modifications to engineering designs as needed.
- May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions or improve equipment or system function.
- May review and correct drawings to ensure that products are in accordance with proper engineering techniques and specifications.
- Selected candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have six (6) yrs. welding experience in SMAW, FCAW & GTAW.
- Must have prior AWS D1.1 Certification in SMAW, FCAW and GTAW in welding of High Hard Armor (HHA), Aluminum and Mild & Stainless Steels as a minimum.
- Must have institutional knowledge of electromechanical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills acquired through years of direct military or commercial support to maintain US proprietary low-density systems.
- Must be familiar with maintaining gasoline and diesel-powered welding equipment and accessories.
- Must have familiarity with Portable Plasma and Oxy-Acetylene Cutting Systems.
- Must be proficient with MS Office Applications including creating and managing Excel Spreadsheets.
- Must be proficient with Adobe Pro for opening and editing pdf documents.
- Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Willingness to accept temporary CONUS transfers to other assignments up to 50%, if needed.
- Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior MRAP Armor Welding Certification.
- Familiarity with USG Property Control systems.
- Familiarity with Logistics, Shipping and Receiving.
- Willingness to accept temporary OCONUS transfers to other assignments, if needed.
- Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements.
- Ability to deploy to risky hostile (''war zone'') environments, if required.
- Ability to obtain a Visa prior to DEPLOYMENT.
- Ability to meet all government Individual Replacement Deployment Operations (IRDO) requirements for foreign travel into operational locations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a (DoD) Public Trust clearance.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
- Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
- Must be able to work in high noise areas.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
- Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
