UMMS Providers/Physicians seeks a highly skilled Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily rounds of patients on inpatient and ambulatory services, evaluating patients and writing consults as needed.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including the administration of medications, ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests, and providing therapeutic treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for oncology patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality monitoring to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in surgical oncology to provide the best possible care for patients.
Qualifications:
  • Current Maryland license in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Completion of a graduate-level Accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a surgical oncology setting.
