Philadelphia Pennsylvania, United States City of Philadelphia Full time

Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting a dedicated team responsible for managing testing operations for the OPAL ERP and DW/BI initiative.

The primary focus of this team encompasses financial and grants evaluation, as well as procurement and supply chain assessments. These positions are permanent and exempt, transitioning to maintenance and support following the project's completion.

Key Responsibilities
The objective of this role is to collaborate with a team that will assess project requirements and enhance them, partner with implementation consultants to architect the system, conduct preliminary user acceptance evaluations, train municipal staff, assist in integrating the system with other municipal software, and execute a phased software launch.

Post-launch, an optimization phase will ensue, during which the team will analyze and implement modifications to enhance performance.

As the ERP operates on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, there will be an ongoing requirement to support, test, and train on new functionalities every 3 to 6 months.

Essential Functions
Throughout the OPAL ERP and DW/BI project, the Quality Assurance Analyst will:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure extensive testing of modules and applications.
  • Engage with functional and IT counterparts to establish testing workflows, including system, integration, user acceptance, and readiness deployment phases.
  • Identify, document, and monitor defects.
  • Diagnose and resolve software issues.
  • Oversee quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards and processes for software or product testing.
  • Provide insights and recommendations regarding software usability and functionality.
  • Participate in design evaluations and contribute to discussions on requirements, product design, and potential challenges.
  • Educate the team on software testing best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with general programming best practices and accepted web standards.
  • Offer guidance and support to team members.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in supporting system, integration, user acceptance, and dress rehearsal script development.
  • Knowledge of software testing tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Adeptness in identifying and rectifying flawed process steps.
  • Familiarity with current workflows and their operation in the new environment.
  • Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Some experience in formulating test script scenarios: system, integration, user acceptance, and dress rehearsal scripts.
