Key Responsibilities:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the entire Human Rated software development life cycle.
- Planning and estimating software releases.
- Conducting thorough software testing and verification.
- Reviewing lower-level software testing and verification processes.
- Performing software process assessments to ensure compliance.
- Assessing software products for design completeness throughout the development cycle.
- Ensuring that NASA requirements are met through effective design solutions.
- Supporting production and control board meetings, as well as design and system reviews.
- Collaborating with NASA and spacecraft system engineering teams.
- Providing oversight for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) prime contractor.
Qualifications:
This position is open to candidates with varying levels of experience. Typically, a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field is required, along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
Technical Expertise:
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Experience in developing space systems requirements documents.
- Risk assessment and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
- Leadership in software development projects across the full life cycle.
- Expertise in safety-critical human-rated software development.
- Proficiency in software testing and verification processes.
- Familiarity with avionics systems and real-time operating systems.
Preferred Knowledge:
Additional knowledge in the following areas is advantageous:
- Systems engineering principles and documentation.
- NASA concepts and practices related to system design.
- Core Flight System (cFS) applications.
- Fault detection and recovery in distributed avionics architectures.
- Agile software development methodologies.
