Veterinary Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of turkeys and providing veterinary services to Select Genetics. The successful candidate will support farm operations in Wadesboro and Raeford, NC.

• Assist breeder operations managers in providing superior veterinary and diagnostics laboratory services.
• Work with affiliated companies to develop products and procedures that enhance profitability.
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer support, serving as the on-site point of contact and communicating proactively.
• Follow and enforce all company rules and regulations related to biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
• Prepare data summaries, reports, and analyses to document research findings and results.
• Work productively in a team environment and be willing to assist in any area necessary for positive results.
• Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Work with various technical tools and equipment.
• Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull, and lift 50lbs or more.
• Passion for working with live animals.
• Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.

• DVM degree from an AVMA accredited college.
• Ability to successfully handle multiple demands simultaneously.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• A valid Driver's License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Prior experience in a poultry industry is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
