Job Overview

We are seeking a warm, energetic, and patient Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education and dance, with a passion for teaching young children. As a Mobile Dance Instructor, you will create a supportive learning environment where children can explore movement and develop their foundational dance skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engaging dance classes for preschool-aged children (ages 2-5) and some after-school dancers (ages 6 and up), focusing on basic movements, rhythm, and creative expression.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate elements of dance, music, and play, supporting children's physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and playful atmosphere that encourages children to participate and express themselves through movement.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring all children are actively involved and adhering to class guidelines.
  • Communicate with parents regarding their child's progress, class activities, and upcoming events or performances.
  • Organize and prepare children for small performances or recitals, helping them build confidence and enjoy the experience of performing.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs and abilities of individual children, ensuring all students are supported and encouraged.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during classes by following health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Dance expertise: Background in dance, with experience in styles suitable for young children, including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop.
  • Early childhood experience: Experience working with preschool/elementary-aged children in a teaching, coaching, or caregiving role is highly preferred.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with young children and their parents.
  • Patience and enthusiasm: A patient, enthusiastic, and caring demeanor, with a genuine love for working with young children.
  • Creative teaching methods: Ability to develop creative and imaginative lesson plans that engage young learners.
  • Certifications: Dance teaching certification and/or early childhood education certification is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation: Must have reliable transportation to travel to class locations.
