Freight Conductor

CSX is seeking a skilled Freight Conductor to join our team. As a key member of our rail operations team, you will be responsible for safely coordinating train crews, placing rail cars, and making up/breakdown trains in rail yards and customer facilities.

• Ensure compliance with railroad and safety rules, FRA regulations, and train orders
• Inspect equipment on cars prior to departures and receive/transmit information by radio and telephone
• Read and understand bulletins, work orders, and switch lists, and assist with coupling and uncoupling of cars
• Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars, and deliver excellent customer service
• Maintain awareness of surrounding area and suspicious activity to ensure rail safety

• 18 years of age or older
• One year of related experience
• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to read and comprehend all instructions, including operating rules and regulatory documents
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
