Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician 2 plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patient care. This position is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and processing medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sterilization methods and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for various departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments and equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions.
• Operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Inventories, orders, and replenishes medical supplies and equipment.
• Maintains accurate records and files, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in sterile processing or central service.
• Certification in sterile processing or central service is highly desirable.

Certified Board Sterile Processing & Dist (CBSPD), or
Certified Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), or
Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
