Local Driver with DOT Medical Card

We are seeking a skilled Local Driver with a DOT medical card to join our team at Amerifleet Transportation, Inc. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for driving passenger vehicles and vehicles weighing 10,001 – 26,000lbs locally in a safe and efficient manner.

- Obtain a DOT medical card and maintain a valid and current certification.
- Perform Electronic Condition Reports on vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with clients and management.
- Present electronic and hard copies of documents pertaining to the vehicle.
- Submit required documents for processing.
- Perform minor interior/exterior clean-up tasks as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Candidates over the age of 65 are subject to an additional review process for insurance purposes.
- Candidates over the age of 65 must provide a letter of insurability from their personal physician for insurance purposes.
- Must have a valid and current driver's license.
- Clean MVR.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- No smoking, vaping, tobacco use, eating, or drinking in the customer's vehicles or at the delivery/service locations at any time.
- One year of driving experience.
- Must be able to operate a Smart Phone/Device (including a variety of applications).
- Must be willing and able to drive in different weather and road conditions.
- Must be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 150 miles from the office.
- Must be willing and able to get in and out of various vehicles (cars, vans, Sprinter-type vans, 24 -26ft. box trucks, etc.) and be able to operate vehicles assigned.
- Previous experience driving larger vehicles (i.e., Vans, Sprinter-type Vans ft. box trucks.) preferred, but not required.
- Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of laws governing the operation of motor vehicles on public roads.
- Must maintain a professional appearance (clean collared shirt, clean shorts/pants, well-groomed).
- $18.00/hr.
- $19.00/hr. after DOT certification process completed.
- Monday thru Friday, 8am - 5pm.
- Benefits start on the 1st of the month following your start date.
- 401(k) with auto-enrollment at 3% starts on the 1st of the month following your start date.
