Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality sonographic examinations and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct thorough and accurate sonographic examinations, selecting appropriate equipment and technical factors for each patient.
- Apply knowledge of sonographic principles, anatomy, and physiology to provide high-quality patient care and maintain regulatory compliance standards.
- Document patient care activities in electronic health records systems and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure a safe and efficient work environment, maintaining supplies and inventory and informing colleagues of necessary orders or repairs.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental workflows, patient experience, and quality improvement efforts.
**Qualifications:**
- Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Education Program.
- RDMS: minimum of 1 year experience.
- RVT certification with no experience required.
- BLS Certification is also preferred.
