Position Summary:

Job Title: Wine and Spirits Cashier

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Wine and Spirits Department Manager

The Wine & Spirits Cashier is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and collaborating with all associates in the Wine and Spirits department to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as achieving departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all standards are upheld in the Wine and Spirits department.
  • Monitor sales floor and stock conditions, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing on all products.
  • Collaborate with vendors and department management to exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests.
  • Assist guests in locating items on the sales floor.
  • Stay informed about promotions and advertisements.
  • Process transactions accurately and maintain cash and media at the registers.
  • Handle special requests and orders from guests.
  • Answer phone calls and assist callers with proper etiquette.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns effectively.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized register area.
  • Support and execute superior customer service initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure regular attendance in compliance with the work schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Contribute to the cleanliness of the department by organizing and cleaning work areas.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to sample products in the Wine and Spirits department.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and company policies.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to potential safety hazards.
  • Must be over the age of 18.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and perform bending and stooping tasks.
  • Requires manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of stock up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures in the work environment.

Work Schedule:

This is an hourly position that may require working mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability.
