As a Production Supervisor at Howmet Aerospace, you will be responsible for overseeing operations in various manufacturing departments throughout the facility. This may include first, second, third, and/or weekend shifts. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing processes, promoting a safe and environmentally compliant workplace, and identifying and correcting operational deviations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direction to team members on work assignments, operational priorities, time recording, and technical troubleshooting resources.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to optimize and prioritize resources and make decisions regarding these resources and their impact on plant operations.
- Facilitate and support employee teams, ensuring they have required resources, such as information and training, to increase the effectiveness of these work teams.
- Work closely with Group Leaders to assist them in dealing with issues outside their scope of authority or expertise.
- Identify training and development opportunities for team members to improve their ability to perform assigned duties effectively and maintain current job knowledge.
- Offer assistance and guidance to team members on processes, techniques, methods, and practices in areas of expertise. May perform a limited amount of hands-on manufacturing activity.
- Oversee decisions regarding staffing, performance evaluation, and corrective actions for team members.
- Prepare requisitions to secure equipment, supplies, and materials required to support plant operations, ensuring best value for the company.
- Manage assigned budget by tracking costs on a regular basis and reducing expenditures wherever practical.
- Utilize manual and automated systems to prepare reports and process information, maintaining a high degree of data integrity.
- Contact internal and external resources as needed to secure support required to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
- Follow regulations and requirements of the SPCC Plan, RCRA regulations, and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals outlined in the Environmental Management System when performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous wastes.
- Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain full compliance and conduct all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years in performing skilled work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work effectively with employees, peers, managers, customers, and vendor representatives
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, etc.)
- Able to establish priorities effectively and push for completion
