Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team at M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Verify patient identification and documentation, and review physician orders prior to exams or procedures.
  • Communicate pertinent information to healthcare professionals and achieve quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors.
  • Recognize structures visualized and understand their significance, and accurately produce and record measurements according to protocols.
  • Participate in crafting a culture of patient safety and demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness for the facility.
  • Ensure patient data integrity and accurately complete computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.
  • Perform accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.
  • Assemble similar relevant exams and reports, and document initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.
  • Participate as an active team member, orient and mentor new employees and students, and participate in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
  • Clean and maintain rooms and supplies, and correctly operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements.
  • ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment.
  • Registered in Vascular Technology (RVT) within one year of employment at Fairview.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and current before hire date.
