Operating Room Lead RN Job Description

Medical Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Operating Room Lead. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership and clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide work direction to clinical and support staff, ensuring efficient coordination of resources to support procedures and day-to-day operations.
  • Support direct patient care by performing the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate patient care team needs by initiating service complaint follow-up and promoting communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff.
  • Act as a resource to employees, providing training, orientation, and day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance.
  • Assist with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selection of new employees, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.
  • Monitor employee assignments, maintain staff scheduling, evaluate staffing levels, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity.
  • Monitor the quality of care provided and ensure policies and procedures are followed in compliance with regulatory and peer review agencies.
  • Provide input to budget and ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for safe patient care and a safe work environment.
  • Work with management to develop new and existing programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Clinical and technical knowledge in area(s) of specialty.
  • Ability to apply evidence-based interventions and nursing skills/technology to correlate to the patient's response to an individualized plan of care.
  • Ability to recognize situational changes that require unplanned interventions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions and the ability to think ahead, anticipate learning needs, and take preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
