Wound Ostomy Registered Nurse, Acute Rehabilitation Specialist

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Wound Ostomy Registered Nurse to join our team in Acute Rehabilitation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities- Directs agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound care, and ostomy care, ensuring evidence-based policies and protocols are in place.
- Develops and conducts educational programs for staff and students, promoting best practices in wound and ostomy care.
- Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff on complex wound management, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers.
- Determines appropriate nursing interventions for patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs in respect to wound and ostomy care.
- Recommends equipment, materials, and resources needed to implement a wound or ostomy care plan.
- Performs pre-operative stoma site marking and ostomy education, as well as post-operative ostomy education and care planning.
- Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience.
- Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program.
- Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months.
