We are seeking an experienced Advanced Associate Chemist to join our team at Tremco Construction Products Group, Inc. This role will involve conducting research tasks, analyzing chemical and engineering data, and summarizing results in reports.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assigned research tasks and/or routine chemical and engineering analysis to support product development and quality control.
- Collect and summarize data in notebooks and write detailed reports on results, including rationale and discussion of experiments.
- Work closely with immediate supervisor to ensure overall accuracy, completeness, and soundness of technical content.
- Apply and interpret scientific theories and concepts to support product formulation and testing.
- Evaluate tasks/project status to determine next steps and plan routine assignments in a timely and logical manner.
- Write technical reports with minimal assistance and give brief presentations with some guidance.
- Understand use of products in the field and complete routine assignments in a timely fashion in conjunction with other technical groups.
- Plan and schedule routine assignments, and coordinate efforts requiring help from other technical groups in a timely and logical manner.
- Write operating procedures and coordinate use of instruments and equipment.
- Orient new hires and provide guidance on safe laboratory practice and chemical handling.
- Familiar with Experimental Design techniques and able to relate product formulation variables to product performance and test results.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $64,000 and $80,000. Tremco offers a variety of benefits to its employees, including health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, Company Pension Plan, Performance Based Commission, and continuing education.
