Key Responsibilities:

Compliance with Accounting Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Regularly review and update accounting policies to align with current GAAP standards.

Audit Oversight:

  • Manage the preparation and execution of financial audits to ensure they are conducted without issues.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to streamline audit processes.
  • Promptly address and resolve any audit findings.

Financial Closing Timeliness:

  • Guarantee the completion of monthly financial closings within a 10-day timeframe.
  • Review and authorize all closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.

Monthly Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure accuracy in monthly financial reports, completed within 15 days after month-end.
  • Present financial statements to senior management and the board.

Internal Controls and Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive management strategies.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust policies accordingly.

Tax Management:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.
  • Develop strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Keep abreast of tax regulation changes and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.

Financial Planning:

  • Lead financial planning for company projects by assessing performance and associated risks.
  • Implement systems and processes across finance and accounting functions.
  • Identify key financial metrics and enhance existing KPIs to effectively measure outcomes.
  • Regularly evaluate organizational performance against budgets and long-term plans.
  • Encourage best practices and process improvements across the organization.

Risk Assessment:

  • Maintain awareness of the company's financial position to preemptively address potential issues.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for managing internal and external risks.

Corporate Governance:

  • Review compliance with lender requirements and ensure timely reporting.

Banking Relationships:

  • Manage banking relationships and coordinate requests efficiently.
  • Oversee the process of securing financing for various business operations.

Cash Management:

  • Prepare financial forecasts to highlight the company's funding needs.
  • Monitor cash flow across business lines and generate reports for early warnings.

Team Leadership:

  • Set performance targets for finance staff and oversee their development.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business or Finance.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
