Position Overview


As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks focused on evaluating both in-process and final product quality to ensure compliance with customer specifications, particularly for cylindrical components.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical inspections of machine components using various precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, height gauges, calipers, bore gauges, CMM).
  • Configure inspection equipment for operational use on the shop floor (e.g., bore gauges, height stands).
  • Perform sampling of in-process components to verify adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Assess final components against customer drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
  • Carry out incoming inspections of raw materials and components.
  • May involve executing both nondestructive and destructive testing methods.
  • Operate a variety of inspection equipment, including CMM and ultrasonic testing tools; training will be provided as necessary.
  • Assist in Quality Assurance initiatives, including internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrate understanding of numerical concepts, basic trigonometry, and geometry to verify setups and part dimensions.
  • Interpret technical drawings and GD&T to ensure components meet required specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to facilitate smooth production flow and address machining or quality issues.
  • Document observations and propose recommendations for process improvements.
  • Exhibit a willingness to mentor and enhance the skill sets of colleagues.
  • Uphold safe operational practices by adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision from senior personnel in the functional area.
  • Comply with company processes and procedures to meet ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards.
  • Follow established safety standards set by the company.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with the authority to execute all relevant tasks.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, specifically in inspection techniques utilizing precision measuring tools and adhering to quality protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in:

  • Sampling, inspection, and testing methodologies.
  • Utilizing precision measuring tools and inspection techniques to evaluate flatness, concentricity, and straightness of cylindrical components with tight tolerances.
  • Technical drawing interpretation and applied knowledge of GD&T.
  • Employing analog gauges effectively.
  • Selecting appropriate gauges for inspecting specific features.
