Overview
Founded in 1937, Dunham's Sports is one of the largest full-line sporting goods chains in the U.S., with over 240 stores across 20 Midwest states. We're seeking a skilled Sports Department Lead to oversee merchandising and sales for specific departments within our stores.

The ideal candidate will have previous retail supervisory experience, field product knowledge, and excellent customer service skills. This role requires strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage store operations and drive sales growth.

Estimated salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

About the Role
This position will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and providing guidance on merchandise presentation, visual displays, and inventory management. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain high standards of customer service, ensure effective stockroom organization, and contribute to achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to customers
- Manage store opening and closing procedures, ensuring seamless transitions between shifts
- Oversee merchandising, operational, and administrative functions within the store

Requirements
- Previous retail supervisory experience
- Field product knowledge (Apparel, Footwear, Exercise, or General Athletics)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
