Position Requirements:

  • Valid Florida RN License
  • Current BLS and ACLS Certifications
  • At least Two (2) years of experience in an acute care environment

Role Overview:

  • Positions available for both Day and Night shifts, 3x12's with varying schedules
  • Under the guidance of the Director, oversees and coordinates the activities of professional and technical staff
  • Organizes departmental activities through effective assignment of responsibilities, delegation of authority, and overall management of workflow processes. Provides leadership and motivation to team members
  • Monitors and assesses departmental personnel activities; offers management coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training as necessary to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Initiates progressive disciplinary actions when required
  • Evaluates systems and processes, implementing necessary changes and improvements to ensure operational efficiency. Assesses the outcomes of changes and anticipated enhancements
  • Ensures the quality of patient care is maintained, prioritizing patient safety during all procedures and adherence to safety standards
  • Guarantees compliance with quality assurance standards. Ensures quality control tests are conducted as required. Maintains departmental compliance with the Joint Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies
  • Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, reporting any equipment issues to the department manager or service personnel as necessary
  • Communicates effectively with administration, medical staff, employees, and other departments to coordinate efforts, address special needs, and resolve issues or concerns. Participates in departmental meetings
  • Establishes goals and objectives for quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction in collaboration with upper management
  • If working with telemetry patients, demonstrates technical proficiency in gathering and communicating objective data such as EKG interpretation, advanced assessment, and medication administration
  • Conducts daily nurse leader rounds and physician rounds as required
  • Ensures assignments are suitable to patient acuity and the skill level of nursing personnel
  • Acts as a clinical resource for staff to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Functions as a direct caregiver with patient assignments as needed
  • Demonstrates capability to act as a department director in their absence
  • Shows ability to function as a house supervisor when necessary
