The Logistics Coordinator will oversee and manage all logistics operations, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods and information. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks effectively. This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and is onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule both over-the-road and local drivers to guarantee timely and efficient transportation, pickup, and delivery of materials while adhering to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, safety standards, and facility compliance.
  • Collaborate with disposal facilities to arrange the delivery of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with 10-day facility regulations and customer scheduling needs.
  • Develop effective waste routing strategies to optimize costs and enhance efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the allocation, maintenance, and inspection of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Provide timely updates to all stakeholders regarding regional transportation and disposal processes.
  • Manage the daily schedule for a team of drivers across multiple service lines and locations, planning 90 days in advance.
  • Coordinate resources with other regions to share responsibilities for efficient over-the-road runs.
  • Supervise subcontracted transporters, evaluate quotes from various vendors, process purchase orders, and approve invoices.
  • Directly manage a team of drivers.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience in the hazardous waste sector.
  • Preferred 18 months of experience in a management role.
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make swift decisions in emergencies.
