Job Summary

The Educational Support Specialist works under general supervision to observe and control the behavior of students and non-students; to provide for the supervision and protection of students, personnel, property and equipment on a school campus. Primary responsibilities of the position are:

  • Conduct interviews with students to determine employment interests and career opportunities.
  • Establish job training sites and partnerships with local employers.
  • Match student interests with employer needs and provide guidance on resume writing and job application completion.
  • Monitor student progress at the job site and provide feedback to students and employers.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other agency personnel as needed, requiring tact, discretion, and courtesy.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other meetings with student teachers, parents, and other service providers as needed.
  • Develop and implement plans for placement training and career development.
Requirements / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
