Job Summary and QualificationsJob Summary:
The Pharmacy Operations Manager will provide leadership support to the Director of Pharmacy and other department leaders by overseeing daily operations and coordinating pharmacy workflow. This role involves managing and supervising pharmacy staff, delegating tasks as needed, and ensuring departmental productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and efficient workflow.
- Assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of pharmacy services, adapting operations as necessary.
- Maintain information systems to enhance pharmacy workflow.
- Facilitate staff development, orientation, and ongoing training.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulatory standards, participating in quality assurance initiatives.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost containment strategies for medication use.
- Monitor departmental productivity and assist with staffing proposals.
- Prepare reports to communicate essential information regarding patient safety and medication therapy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or PharmD. Degree from an accredited pharmacy college.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a hospital pharmacist.
- Preferred: ASHP accredited residency or advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS).
- State Pharmacy License.
- FL State Consultant License.
