We are seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team at Greater Texas Healthcare Enterprises. As an Anesthesiologist Assistant, you will work alongside anesthesiologists to administer anesthesia and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery.
Responsibilities- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients in a variety of surgical settings, including orthopedics, spine, general, and urology.
- Prepare equipment and medication for anesthesia administration.
- Assist in placing and managing invasive monitoring devices, such as arterial lines, central lines, and pulmonary artery catheters.
- Provide support in airway management, including intubation and extubation.
- Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with patient transport and hand off to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
- Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) certification.
- Current certification with the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- An active and unencumbered CAA license in the state of employment.
- No flagged or under investigation licenses.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, such as nursing, pre-med, or biology.
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
- Master of Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies.
