The Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission is seeking a highly skilled Attorney IV to join its Legal Affairs Bureau. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will work closely with POST staff and the Commission to enhance the professionalism of California law enforcement.

• Work with executive management on various matters involving POST operations
• Collaborate with POST's Professional Conduct Bureaus in investigation of police misconduct and the selection and preparation of cases for decertification
• Coordinate with the Office of the Attorney General regarding litigation involving POST
• Analyze court records to determine peace officer disqualification
• Appear before the Peace Officer Accountability Advisory Board and the POST Commission
• Respond to Public Records Act requests
• Handle internal personnel matters
• Analyze local agency compliance with POST regulations
• Determine legal requirements for law enforcement training
• Implement and interpret legislative mandates
• Draft proposed legislative language

• Active membership in the California State Bar and be a member in good standing
• Submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office
