Overview
The Manufacturing Process Specialist is responsible for developing and documenting production methodologies, materials, tools, and processes associated with back-end semiconductor assembly. This role involves conducting analyses and selecting methodologies to address challenges and improve product yield and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs high-yield, cost-efficient processes tailored to product specifications and customer demands.
- Stays informed about advancements in manufacturing and design technologies.
- Creates and implements Design of Experiments (DOE) for process enhancement using relevant statistical analysis tools, such as JUMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or similar.
- Establishes processes in accordance with product specifications.
- Assesses and validates process and design alternatives based on manufacturability.
- Understands cost of goods sold principles and develops process enhancements to improve manufacturing cost-effectiveness.
- Recognizes intellectual property considerations related to the processes being developed.
- Fosters positive and collaborative communication with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Recent graduates may be considered; relevant technical internship or co-op experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC standards.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Skills:
- Capable of functioning effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at various organizational levels.
- Adept at leveraging and/or involving others to achieve project goals.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Skilled in multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational and follow-up abilities, along with meticulous attention to detail.
- As a member of Rochester Electronics, the individual is expected to positively contribute to the company culture and adhere strictly to established work policies and practices.
